THINKING

Thinking about what you would like to do with the 'Take One Picture' painting is the first step in the creative process. Thinking is how you develop ideas; think creatively and talk to other people in your school about how you can use the painting to support students' learning across the curriculum. Brainstorming around existing Schemes of work or curriculum plans can help you develop ideas.

For example, a year 6 teacher whose class were studying 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' thought about how this could be linked to Titian's 'Bacchus and Ariadne' through thinking about magical and mythological creatures. These connections were used to produce a video in which pupils from the school encounter mystery and magic in the woods surrounding their school. Another teacher thought about a curriculum map showing how Uccello's 'Saint George and the Dragon' could be used to support learning in all subject areas.
