Models by Sixpenny Handley First School
After spending time looking at the characters in the painting, students at the school also became fascinated by some of the other features in Hogarth's portrait. This inspired students to create models of the beautiful birdcage, clock, fruit bowl, cat and cart in which baby Thomas was sitting. The challenge was to use card and paper exclusively, building up the layers and letting them dry between every lesson. This required students to plan carefully, to work together and to be patient.
Involvement in 'Take One Picture' gave enormous pleasure and satisfaction to everyone at the school. |
