Driftwood boats on a woven sea
St. Mary's School
The Nursery class at St. Mary's School, in Bodmin, chose individual pieces of driftwood to make their own model boats. Children discussed reasons for their choices. A local carpenter visited the school to demonstrate ways of attaching the masts and sails. When the models were finished the boats were displayed in the classroom on a specially woven sea, also made by the pupils.
